DECORATION CEREMONY OF THE NEWLY PROMOTED BRIGADIER GENERALS BY HIS EXCELLENCY THE PRESIDENT AND COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF OF THE RSLAF
UK Defence Attaché and US Defence Attaché together with the decorated Senior Officers
On Thursday 4th March 2024, His Excellency the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces, Brig Gen (Rtd) Dr Julius Maada Bio decorated five newly promoted Senior Officers to the rank of Brigadier Generals at State House.

The decoration ceremony is as a result of the promotion of Eight (8) Senior Officers from the ranks of Colonel/Group Captain to Brigadier General/Air Commodore on 22nd January 2024 by H.E the President and Commander-in-Chief of the RSLAF. The Five (5) Senior Officers decorated at State House were; Brig Gen AO Kamara, Brig Gen GM Bangura, Brig Gen A Jusu, Air Commodore HS Coomber and Brig Gen SS Massaquoi. Additionally, Three (3) other Senior Officers presently on completion of their Defence College and Strategic Studies abroad were also promoted to Brigadier Generals include; Brig Gen SDT Ngaujah, Brig Gen M Fofanah and Brig Gen KT Sesay. They are also expected to be decorated by appropriate senior authorities in their respective countries of studies.

During the decoration ceremony, H.E the President and C-in-C of the RSLAF Brig Gen (Rtd) Dr Julius Maada Bio expressed his profound gratitude to the newly decorated Senior Officers for their hard work, professionalism, courage and loyalty to the State. He stressed that the newly promoted Generals have not only grown to higher ranks but merited their ranks. He encourages them to rise up and continue to demonstrate professionalism as development can only happened when they keep the peace and stability of the country. He added that the future of the country depends on their leadership and extend his support to them in the execution of their mandate, he concluded.

On behalf of his newly promoted colleagues, Brig Gen AO Kamara thanked HE the President and C-in-C of the RSLAF for elevating them to their higher ranks and the confidence he reposed in them. He expressed their willingness to protect and uphold the constitution of Sierra Leone and work in the best of the State and the Armed Forces at all times.
